The quality of an excellent animator

American film director Darren Aronofsky said: “The animator must outlive the normal 24 times, one second every 24 frames.”

When making an animated film, an animator must keep all aspects of the character’s movements in mind, because the animator needs to make every movement of the model. The animator also needs to observe everything around and learn from them. Observing the things and people around you and analyzing their behavior will help the animator shape the character’s movements. The animator must also understand the camera angle and the projection of different objects in a given frame. Constantly practicing taking pictures in life helps to understand perspective.

The design of the character must be attractive. It should make the audience like this character. So animators need to be creative and need to keep the character simple while paying attention to details. The complexity associated with them should not exist. This is what makes them more accessible and friendly. Jumping outside the boundaries helps us become good animators and makes the characters more interesting. Creativity makes your ideas different from others. An animator should know how to make anything simple artistically into something interesting.

Humor is the key to being a good animator. If you have a good sense of humor, your character will automatically portray it. Comedy is the key to friendliness. Humor reflects the actions and behaviors of the characters. Since almost all animated films are aimed at children, they are all made in the comedy genre. After finishing the cooperative project, I am going to start my personal project. I thought about it for a long time and didn’t know what to do. Then I decided to finish the performance animation last semester.

I thought about it. I think if I make a male character with a female voice, the effect will look more humorous, so I tried it.

Using a man to imitate the actions of a woman will make the character look like a gay, so I keep laughing while doing it.

During the adjustment process, I had a problem, that is, I pulled the character’s head or body, but the clothes did not move with it. I thought it was a problem when I bound the props. After repeated attempts, I tried to restart. maya, then the problem is solved.

And the use of the curve editor is also what I need to learn. This is not a simple matter.

When this kind of curve is very large, we know that this character is doing some very exaggerated movements. If we find some strange places in the preview, we can give priority to modify from this place.

Advanced Unit:Co-op Project Rendering and editing

After we have finished our respective parts, we are editing and rendering.This part is taken care of by Jay.

In this version, we feel that the switching of some scenes is too rigid, there are no long shots, and there are too many close shots. Due to time constraints, we cannot show every shot.

After we reported the problem to Jay, he made adjustments and added new ideas, which is the ending paragraph.

Advanced Unit:Co-op Project Walking through the ruins

The problem in this part is that the overall posture when going downhill is different from the way we usually walk on flat ground.

This section is a walk on a downhill step. In order to better restore the state of downhill walking, I refer to some videos.

Observe that when you go downhill, you should pay attention. When you take a leg, the center of gravity is on the other leg. Avoid moving the center of gravity with the steps. Keep your knees slightly bent. Keep the center of gravity vertical to the ground. Do not lean forward or backward. Slightly smaller when walking on flat ground.

Because the slope also affects the state of walking, I adjusted the angle from the beginning to the current one, which is a relatively suitable angle.

After jay completes the scene, I am in charge of shooting and part of the action. I am mainly responsible for the walking part of the ruin scene

In order to better reflect the characteristics of the robot, I went to learn how the robot walks.

I have summarized that when robots walk, they can’t behave like humans. Their limbs are rather stiff, so they feel a little frustrated when they walk.

The problem encountered in this process is that I need to adjust the direction when I walk, and the body of the robot cannot rotate. I communicate with Jay. I thought it was a problem with the model. Jay said that the rotating channel is locked by default. Just open it.
