FMP 13 Summarize

This blog records the software I used in this FMP, the knowledge I learned, the difficulties and solutions I encountered.

Software:

Rigging: Maya

Animation: Maya

FX: Maya

Storyboard: Photoshop

Editting:Premiere

Rendering: Maya

Learned:

The lighting layout of the scene, the body mechanic and the walking animation were reviewed. The use of Bullet special effects, as well as more proficient use of the graph editor.

After selecting the story, in order to better do a better metaphor animation, I carefully thought about how to express the character of each character and the integrity of the story. So I read some books about the lens to help me show the storyline better.

Although what I did this time is not very good, there is still a lot of room for improvement. I will be more adept at doing animation in the future, and I will continue to make progress while exploring.

FMP12 Edit video

After all the animations were rendered, I started editing. I used Adobe Premiere because I rendered and exported jpeg image sequences.

In order to facilitate editing, nest the imported pictures into one.

Then adjust the speed and repeat several times to organize all the rendered pictures.

Select the image sequence when importing, and then import the entire folder into it.

After importing all the pictures, organize them, arrange them, and add audio in appropriate places.

Here is the mask feathering used, remove the corners of the video and adjust the transparency.

After overdoing, it’s basically done, and then export.

FMP 11 Rendering

After all the animations are completed, I started rendering, I chose the Arnold renderer.

First of all, I previewed it and found that my light was not turned on. I pressed the shortcut key 7 and tested again, and found that it was OK.

As there are more lights, the rendering speed may be slower. I chose a resolution of 720.

Then start batch rendering, fill in the frames to be rendered in each scene at once.

Here are my rendering parameters

In order to save time, I found a rendering farm on the Internet and used two machines to render together. This process still took me a lot of time.

Due to the number of operations, I forgot to materialize the wall and made a mistake, because every time the rendering settings need to be set to the file path again.

Finally, organize the rendered files together. For the convenience of editing, this process took about 3-4 days.

FMP10 Day 4 02

This is the ending of the story and the occurrence of tragedy.

First of all, I didn’t know what special effects to use to make the wall collapse, so I asked Yanh, and he suggested that I use shatter to do it.

The effect of shatter is more like the effect of shattering, and what I want is the effect of collapse.

But this effect didn’t seem to be what I wanted, so I went on to discuss with him.He told me that for the effect of collapsing pieces, first the model needs to be made up of pieces.

Like this

So I finally got the effect I wanted Bullet.

I didn’t see the BOSS plug-in on my laptop, so I opened the plug-in manager and checked it. It still didn’t. According to the official website, bifrost might not be checked, and maya need to be re-downloaded, so I could only bring the file to another Operate on a computer, fortunately there are.

After that, I followed the video and modified it appropriately according to my needs.

FMP 9 Day 4 01

The fourth day’s story tells that the old woman ignored her advice to others and decided to check it herself, but died of a collapsed wall.

Here is mainly an animation of an old woman walking and checking the wall. Because she is older, her walking pace is slower, and she doesn’t walk as easily as young people do. Generally, she walks with her hands behind her back.

First of all, the old people walk with their hands behind their backs to maintain balance. Due to the old age, insufficient waist muscle tension and bone degradation, the spine is tilted forward and the center of gravity is lowered. Secondly, it is to save effort. When a person is walking normally, the body will naturally shake , Drives the arm to swing like a clock, walking with back hands can reduce the shaking of the body and save effort.

In order to make the old people seem to be walking very hard, they move slowly, and the amplitude is relatively small.

The second action is to turn around and walk forward.

In order to be careful, I added a gesture of holding the glasses. This is also to prepare for the plot later. The angry old lady went to check in person because other people didn’t believe her advice.

The half squat is also to show that the old woman doesn’t believe what she said and other people do not believe it, so she wants to verify it.

FMP 8 Day3 02

This action is similar to the previous job body mechanic.Pushing something forward.

First of all, first establish the constraint relationship.

Because according to the mass of the object, an adult will not be particularly strenuous to push a trash can, and it is not that heavy, so the movement needs to be adjusted accordingly. If you push something that cannot be pushed, the range of the movement It will be bigger, and the angle of the whole person will be lower.

According to the actual height and quality of the object, I adjusted the movement of my character.

The pace of the footsteps is relatively slow, because it is an elderly person, roughly the same as usual walking.

Just keep pushing her to the wall, even if this part is complete.

FMP7 Day3 01

The story on the third day mainly corresponds to the 7, 8, and 9 pictures of the storyboard. It is mainly about women throwing trash, old women throwing trash back, and old women pushing trash cans away.

The movement is also mainly composed of walking. The action is also mainly composed of walking, and adding a parent relationship on the hand and garbage bag.

This is a close-up of a garbage bag falling to the ground. It reminds me of the first time in class, luke taught us to bounce the ball.

The second part is an action of throwing something. It is the same as before. First tie the parent and then release it at a specific frame.

Then use the graph editor to make the whole action more smooth.

Actually, there should be a hand movement. I didn’t take it into consideration when I did it. It was because of my lack of experience.

When a person falls, his hands will subconsciously support the body. This is an instinctive reaction.

FMP6 Day 2 02

This picture is not on the storyboard, I added it to connect the story.

I encountered some problems when doing this action. First of all, when I chose the controller of my hand, I chose the controller of the left hand, and the controller of the right hand would select together, so I asked Lucy.

Lucy asked me if I opened the symmetry, I said no, and then she asked me to look at the controller in the outliner.

Here, I found that the left-hand controller is inside the right-hand controller, and I can only drag him out from the inside. So this problem is solved.

Also, I originally made an animation of a ball, but I didn’t put it on when I thought it was unnecessary. When making the ball picking animation, an error occurred when the first ball established the parent relationship. Yanh suggested that I hide and Create a new one.

I want to thank yanh and lucy for your help here.

FMP5 Day 2 01

The second day mainly corresponds to the fourth and fifth of the storyboard, mainly children playing football and old women pushing him away.

Since I am not very clear about the movements of football, I found a reference.

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Mq4y1Z7ou?from=search&seid=13933481625698749028&spm_id_from=333.337.0.0

First, adjust a few key poses,The first action is a half squat.

Then raise the foot

Kick a ball

Foot landing

After adjusting the part of the foot, add the movement of the corresponding hand.

Then slowly adjust the part of the middle frame

In the latter part, I made a big mistake, which caused the picture effect to be very poor. When I adjusted the old woman’s hand, I didn’t lock the X axis, which caused it to slide all the time.

Emoticon reference

In order to show the child’s dissatisfaction and helplessness, I chose this one.

FMP 4 Animation day 1

According to the plot of the storyboard, the story is divided into four days.

The first day is mainly about the man calling by the wall, and the grandmother went to dissuade him.

These movements are also some of the basic movements taught by luke before. They are not difficult, mainly speaking, expressions, and walking.

I divided the action on the first day into several parts, firstly making a phone call, secondly dissuade, and also made a separate brick drop, because the general eye material can not clearly reflect the picture, so it is synthesized to the eye in the later stage.

There are three main shots on the first day. The first one is to make a phone call. The camera gradually moves back to the old woman’s head. The second one is the old woman’s eyes seeing the bricks fall. The third one is to discourage the man and the man leaving.

The movement of walking is the basis of animation, and it can be considered as a review of previous learning.

I forgot to deal with the edges of this eye, which makes the picture very stiff. The reflection in the normal eye will not have corners. This is a problem caused by my failure to think carefully when making it.
